Fannin County….
Love at first site! Of all the places I have been, when I reflect on my memories and I look at my pictures from this trip my heart smiles! I feel like I was just there yesterday. Blue Ridge, Georgia is one of those places that you could re visit every year and not get tired of it…
Is it the mountains? The warm, kind and friendly people? The sound of the rapids? The old town.. home town feel? I can’t put my finger on exactly what makes Blue Ridge, Georgia so special… but it is just that… special.
I’m a fisherman at heart so you know I spent a great deal of time finding the best spot on the river and did I ever find it! The sound of the rushing rapids while you sleep is not something you get to hear every day. Did I mention the trout? Trout fishing right outside your back door… Whether you like to fish or you prefer the wilder side of life and enjoy white water rafting both of these opportunities were a simply walk outside away. This beautiful log cabin with a gazebo right on the river was everything I could have hoped to find.
The location of Blue Ridge to Tennessee and North Carolina made finding things to do very easy and accessible. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is a must! Riding through the mountains on an open air train with such majestic views is priceless.
There are so many different falls and trails around that you could spend a week just doing that. I highly recommend Ruby Falls. Getting to the under ground fall is an experience all by itself. Make sure you have your camera charged! Once you reach this magnificent site you will be glad you made the trip.
From fishing or hiking, kayaking or rafting, horse back riding or zip lining in the mountains to antiquing… Blue Ridge Georgia is one of those places where anyone regardless of age or energy can enjoy what they love.
Blue Ridge Georgia definitely on my “places to revisit” list!
