Washington DC

Washington, DC is the capital of the United States of America. It is a very compact city located along Potomac River. It’s neighboring states are Maryland and Virginia. Washington, D is known for its monuments and buildings including the the Capitol Building, The White House and The Supreme Court. Washington, DC is also known for its museums and performing arts venues such as the Smithsonian Museums and the Kennedy Center.

Washington, DC… I have been wanting to visit here for years. I love history and there is definitely no shortage of history in DC. Because there was so much I wanted to see and know about I chose to get the 2-Day pass for the Old Town Trolley. They make stops at all the National Landmarks and Museums and they have very informative narrations in between stops. The distance between the museums and landmarks were too far apart to attempt by foot in a short 2 day trip so I found the trolley tour a great way solution.

DC is one of those places that if you are on a budget there are still a lot of things to do and see that won’t cost you any money. Most of the Smithsonian Museums do not cost to get in to and there are a lot of them to see! Do some research before you go on the different Smithsonian Museums and find the ones that are most interesting to you because you will not be able to see them all in one stay. I was in DC for 2 days and I only made it to 3 of the Smithsonian Museums. Many of the more famous museums in Washington are near or along the National Mall that runs between the Lincoln Memorial and the U.S. Capitol so you can incorporate your museum visits with national land mark visits.

I am a lover of authentic international cuisine so being in DC was a wonderful opportunity for me to eat food that isn’t readily available in such variety and I have to say I was not disappointed! I guess if I had to pick a favorite dining experience while I was there it would have to be the Lebanese Taverna. Great great great Lebanese food and the ambiance to match!

So much to see… so much to say… DC is definitely a must see!
